5-step technique for all glitter types — including specific methods for chunky glitter concentration and gel curing.
Clean nails, push cuticles back, lightly buff surface. Apply one coat of clear base coat. Base coat is non-optional for glitter — it bonds particles to the nail, prevents color staining from pigmented glitters, and makes later removal dramatically easier by preventing direct glitter-to-nail bonding. Allow 60-90 seconds to dry.
For maximum visual impact: apply 1-2 coats of coordinating base color. White base maximizes holographic rainbow effect (+30–40% intensity). Black base maximizes Midnight Magic collection. Nude base for subtle fine sparkle look. This step is optional but significantly increases glitter effect visibility. Allow full drying.
Holographic & Fine Sparkle: standard brush strokes, thin even layers — particles self-distribute. Work quickly to prevent lines. Chunky Glitter: patting/stippling motion with brush. Load brush, pat onto nail rather than stroking. This deposits maximum particle density without sliding. Repeat pat-motion until coverage is even. Glitter Gel: thin coats only, avoid flooding cuticle, cure 30-60 sec under 36W+ LED after each coat.
1 coat: subtle sparkle / sheer effect. 2 coats: standard salon-ready coverage. 3 coats: maximum impact / full glitter look. Allow each layer to fully dry (or cure for gel) before the next. Over-loading wet layers causes particles to slide; building in thin dry layers maintains even density. For gel: cure between each coat for best adhesion.
Apply one generous coat of thick, high-gloss top coat.
